As you know, I have great devotion to our Blessed
Mother especially under the title of Our Lady of Guadalupe and it is for her
that I am writing.
On October 28th, I had the great privilege and honor of
meeting with a gentleman, Larry Behr, who is the president of the board of
directors for an exciting project called the ARCH OF THE TRIUMPH OF THE
IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY and International Shrine to the Holy Innocents. I was
pleased to learn that this ambitious endeavor has the backing of many noteworthy
Catholic pro-life organizations and personalities from throughout the USA.
It is PRO-LIFE and it is a GOOD project!
I was truly excited when I got to personally stand on
the proposed site for this long, overdue tribute to Our Blessed Mother, with
whose secure help our country was originally founded. The plans include the
erection of an exquisite, golden-colored arch that would rise 700 feet into the
sky from Buffalo, New York. Because it will stand as the tallest building in the
world, I feel that it will be a beacon of light which will shine so brightly
that it will draw people from all over to this beautiful peninsula overlooking
the eastern side of Lake Erie.
From my heart, I feel that this arch will stand as a
token of our appreciation to Our Lady for her continual help and protection; but
more importantly as a symbol of our true FAITH in the Triune God, our
never-ending HOPE in the coming of the Kingdom, and our unselfish LOVE to
others.
You may already be aware of the existence of this
project and that is great; but I am especially taking the time to write to you
because I discovered that this extremely important project is just in its
infancy, so to speak, and is in need of a great deal of enthusiastic response
from the people of the entire USA. This response must be first and foremost in
the form of prayers because prayers are always powerful!
Secondly, this response must come in the form of
financial assistance and no donation is considered small in the eyes of our Lord
and Lady. What is important is that when gifts are given, that they be given
"from the heart" with no desire to receive anything in return. When it
is given in this way, unexpected graces will be bestowed from our gracious God
through the Immaculate Heart of our dearest Mother.
