Prayer  ~~  "Come Spirit of Love!  

Come that as a result of our CONVERSION 
AND 
COMMUNION, 
a complete unity of all the peoples 
on this great CONTINENT OF AMERICA 
may take place!

That beginning with 
The CHURCH IN AMERICA  
a 
SOLIDARITY, 
never before seen 
on the face of this earth, 
may result!

 

 

Preferential love for the poor and the outcast

The Woman Clothed with the Sun 
and the 
Moon under her Feet 

has lead us to our poor brothers and sisters
 and those who are 
outcasts of society.

The Synod Fathers and
 Pope John Paul II reminds us that 
The CHURCH IN AMERICA 
is truly THE Universal Church,
and we MUST, 
in a concrete and living way,
 demonstrate her SOLIDARITY by helping

those who 
do not have enough food to eat, 
clothes to wear, 

or a decent place to live!

The ultimate goal of the entire Universal Church is that no one have to experience the painful situation of feeling that they are an 
outcast 
of society!

In order to realize this goal, 
the  
"Universal" Catholic Church 

MUST be a Church which

ASSISTS, 
PROMOTES, 
and 
LIBERATES

all 
of our brothers and sisters, from 
feeling or being 
less than who God created them!!!

 

Which is  
IN HIS IMAGE AND LIKENESS!


Pope John Paul II further instructs us that we MUST have a

 special 
love 
for the poor just as Christ loved those who are 
less fortunate spiritually and materially than ourselves!

Because 
"Sacred Scripture reminds us that God hears the cry of the poor!" (Psalm 34, verse 7)

 

Our Holy Father feels that this extremely important work of the Church with the 
poor, outcast 
and
marginalized
will lead others to experience a real "encounter" with the 
 LIVING JESUS CHRIST!

 

As St. Paul instructs us, Jesus, Himself, became one of the poor and outcast,  

"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that being rich He became poor, for your sakes: that through His poverty you might be rich."
(2 Corinthians Chapter 8, verse 9)

The Synod Fathers agree that the 
 CHURCH IN AMERICA, 
 through her 
Word,

but more importantly through her 
actions, 
MUST testify that she really is in 
 COMMUNION 
and 
SOLIDARITY 
with those 
spiritually 
and 
materially 
less fortunate.

The Holy Father gently reminds us that because AMERICA had some 
dark chapters in history involving the practice of slavery 
and 
other situations of social discrimination, 

we should strive even more fervently toward CONVERSION, 
 RECONCILIATION, 
and  ultimately  COMMUNION 
with 
all our brothers and sisters throughout the world!
