Prayer  ~~  "Come Spirit of Love!  

Come that as a result of our CONVERSION 
AND 
COMMUNION, 
a complete unity of all the peoples 
on this great CONTINENT OF AMERICA 
may take place!

That beginning with 
The CHURCH IN AMERICA  
a 
SOLIDARITY, 
never before seen 
on the face of this earth, 
may result!

 

 

The arms race

Our Holy Father and Synod Fathers' summary of the solidarity of the
CHURCH IN AMERICA
regarding the development of arms takes a very strong position.

 

They feel that the CHURCH IN AMERICA must "...raise a prophetic voice to condemn the arms race and the scandalous arms trade,
which consumes huge sums of money that would instead be used to
combat poverty
and
promote development."

They also feel strongly that "...the stockpiling of weapons is a cause of
instability and a threat to peace."

 For this reason the Church remains
on guard
 in situations where there is a risk of
 armed conflict,
even between sister nations.

 

Instead, the Church
should be a
"sign" and "instrument" of helping to settle disagreements and thereby help to bring about peace!

It is for this reason that the
CHURCH IN AMERICA should seek, by every means possible, including interceding
and
even acting as a third party in order to
help settle a dispute.

It is always the responsibility of the
CHURCH IN AMERICA
to promote peace and brother-like love among peoples!

We the CHURCH IN AMERICA must ask ourselves,

 

"DID NOT OUR JESUS SUFFER AND DIE 
in order that
ALL MANKIND
MAY BE RECONCILED
WITH EACH OTHER?"

No wonder He looks so weary!
